Nicklaus provided inspections and testing for asbestos and lead abatement, performed on-site monitoring of asbestos removal, and asbestos removal area air sampling. Both the Construction Manager and On-Site Inspector reviewed the plans and specifications; meeting internally to discuss the project in general. Additionally, Nicklaus met with Imperial County representatives to discuss the approved submittal documents, and the overall project schedule. The agenda included job safety, labor compliance, and critical items of work. Finally, Nicklaus prepared the pre-construction meeting minutes for record and provided the minutes to the County and the contractor. As construction began, the On-Site Construction Inspector began full-time inspection services. Acting as the eyes and ears of the project, the On-Site Construction Inspector drafted daily inspection reports and documented a daily photo catalog of construction activities which were communicated to the Construction Manager, the General Contractor and the County of Imperial Representative. The On-Site Inspector began coordination of all material testing required for the project as outlined in the previously reviewed Quality Assurance Procedure. Test results were part of the daily submittals to be reviewed by the Construction Manager for contract compliance. The On-Site Inspector also ensured the contractor was promoting job site safety, note as-built conditions, and conduct labor interviews.
